Treasure of the day...

"For we are saved by hope; but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it."
Romans 8:24-25

trust HIS heart

"But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." ...For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9,10

~God is enough for me... for my problems, my pain, my hurt and my desires. When I am afraid or worried or self-condemning, I will remember WHO sustains me! God is sufficient! So I will lay my burdens, flaws, needs, guilt, anger, frustration, fear, disappointments and desires on His shoulders and trust His heart!!!~

"God is too wise to be mistaken, God is too good to be unkind, So when you don't understand, When you don't see His plan, When you can't trace His hand, Trust His heart" ~Babbie Mason

3rd Race this year

Dawn at the Don 5K Race 2011

Post race picture. Exhausted but smiling coz I finished my 3rd race this year. This was a bit harder coz I didn't have my awesome husband to run it with but he was at the finish line waiting for me.

This race was hard from the start. I wasn't mentally prepared for it or physically... just coming from vacation but hubby wouldn't let me back off from the race. lol. Praise God for him! It was awesome to hear my name as I cross the finish line. :) But what really was a treat was that I finished at 39:33! That's a new record for me. It definitely beat my goal of 45:00 for this race. :)

This is the biggest blessing moving back to Canada. Us getting to see family and spending time with them. Love these guys!

Conquered Mt. Ascutney

Allen and I set off to climb to the summit of Mount Ascutney, elev. 3,144 feet.

It was a very difficult trek through boulders, sleep inclines, and uncleared paths. It was physically exhausting and mentally challenging.

Oh but getting to the summit was amazing!!!! It was much better than my 10K experience. We couldn't believe we climbed a mountain! It was an incredible view!!! The air was so fresh and light. It was hard but I would definitely do it again!

Had the greatest partner with me! So encouraging and he wouldn't accept anything but my best. Love experiencing new things with my best-friend, my hubby.

Fam Time Mondays

Mondays are my hubby's day off and so we try to make it a point to do something we all enjoy. So yesterday, we decided to go a little further from home to visit the Fathom Five National Marine Park in Tobermory, Ontario (about 4 1/2 hrs from the GTA).

We truly enjoyed the day. We were quite active which we all enjoy. We walked around Little Tub Harbour and enjoyed some Beavertails before our boat tour. Our boat tour took us to two shipwrecks that can be seen above water (the other ships can only be seen by scuba diving) in Big Tub Harbour. Then we were dropped off at Flowerpot Island to hike the trails. And because we are just plan crazy, instead of sticking to the trail for 1st part of it, we ended up climbing up and down rocks to get from one flowerpot to the other. It was a bit challenging and definitely was fun! :) Then we followed the trail to the cave and Castlerock Lookout which we actually had to run because we were running out of time and would miss the boat back. That was challenging! lol.

We enjoyed some YUMMY Fish & Chips (one of the best I've had!) before the drive back. This place will definitely be a regular mini-getaway for us. There are still many areas to visit here and will definitely visit the other national park that's near by. This place is a definite must to visit.

Us getting our Beavertails

One of the shipwrecks in Big Tub Harbour, The Sweepstakes.

Flowerpot Island. You can see the 2nd flowerpot formation in the distance. This is were we started climbing rocks to get to that 2nd flowerpot.

Our boy enjoying the activity and the view! He was just chillin' here... waiting for his parents. lol. He was much too fast! :)

Almost there! Hubby and I took turns taking pictures. lol.

My boy and I. :) LOVE this kiddo!!!!

The best man I know

This Father's Day was really nice. We had breakfast with my hubby's family then we did what all the men in our family liked to do golf! We'll not all so instead of an actual golf game, we just went to a driving range. :) My husband loves his brothers and was thrilled to have spent a chunk of his day with them.

I love this man. He is my best friend and a gift from God.

Brothers and cousins

Father with his boys and their boys :D

They love spending time together! I love these three!!!

These two women are amazing and I have all the love and respect for them. With Mom and Trish.

Weighed this morning, -0.5 lbs. :( Not what I wanted but I'm at the lowest I've been in the past 3 or 4 years!!!! YAY GOD! :)

Today, I'm 150.5 lbs! :)

This is a really old photo that I recently was tagged in Facebook. Holy cow, I was skinny!!! LOL! Anyway, I don't know if I can ever go back to that but wow, seeing this definitely makes me think of how much I've let myself go! Those ice cream and cakes don't seem worth it compared to this!!! Need to remember that when I'm thinking of overindulging! On a side note, I really LOVED that dress!!! I'd totally wear that if they had a bigger and longer version (past the knees). lol. :)

My young man at his 1st Banquet

Our son went to his 1st banquet last night. He actually really didn't want to go (he actually didn't even tell us!). We found out from one of the parents and so we made him go. lol. My hubby and I knew he'll enjoy himself but he just needed to take risks and put himself out there.

He really is growing up. I still remember going to banquets in high school. Has it really been that long? I guess so!!! LOL! He enjoyed himself and I'm so glad that he wasn't too opposed to me taking a few pictures. :)

Our boy is looking all grown up. :) Love him!

Lovely young ladies!
Two of these girls, I've known since birth. Can't believe how fast they grow!

Filipino Sabbath

So excited today because for over a decade I couldn't wear a Filipino dress coz of my weight or/and insecurities. Today, for Filipino Day at church, I was able to fit (although a bit tight) into my Mom's Filipino dress. How great is that!!! :D

afternoon adventure

We sorely needed family time where time was a factor and it's just the three of us. So we decided to explore the richness Ontario has to offer. :)

We picked up our boy from school and whisk him off to Port Hope. It's about a 20-30 minutes drive.

It was a wonderful time! Lil' Allen greatly enjoyed the adventure. Port Hope Marina is a hidden jewel.

Trying to get back to reality

It's been really hard this past week with the move and all. I found myself ignoring my good habits so that I can pour all my attention to unpacking and organizing.

Now I'm having a REAL difficulty eating healthy. :(

So far I've had 2 1/2 pancakes with a total of 1 tbs maple syrup.

Haven't weighed myself... kinda scared!
